Esbjerg Curling Club was founded on 29 September 1975 and has established itself as one of the largest clubs in Denmark. Over the years, the club’s members have won Danish championships, lots of national tournaments and the WCC for wheelchair users. ECK held the WCC for women in March 2011, and in November 2015 ECK held the ECC for both men and women – the biggest curling event ever on Danish soil,
Since the beginning of the 80s, ECK has actively collected money to build a curling rink, and in 2004 it succeeded in realizing the club’s dream. We look forward to opening the doors to you in our fantastic curling hall on Gl. Vardevej
Practice
It is open for training daily from morning to evening. Check yourself on lane booking when the lanes are booked. ECK helps find a team for you, so you are in “safe” hands at the start.
Curling is a sport for anyone with reasonable arm mobility. Wheelchair curling is a Paralympic sport, and Denmark is aiming to qualify for the next Winter PL in Beijing, China in 2022. Whether you have ambitions to grab one of the spots on the national team, or if you are more into the social and cozy about curling, you are welcome to try the sport with us. Remember to dress warmly. If you have any questions, you can call or write to Kasper (see email and phone number under the “Contact” tab). We look forward to seeing you.
Quota
Every Wednesday there is a club evening with joint training, fun and tournament matches. We start at 18.30 and play until 21.00. On the last Wednesday of each month, we play “high hat”, where lots are drawn to determine who plays together.
Equipment
ECK has shoes and brooms you can borrow at the beginning. Bring warm and loose-fitting clothes. ECK sells equipment at advantageous member prices.
Coach
ECK has some trainers who primarily take care of new members and juniors. Ask the board when there are coaches on the pitch.
